NEGATIVE STARS - STAY AWAY

We sent video footage of damage done to our property to Zurich and were not informed the file could not be opened. We tried following up multiple times to have our claim addressed over a six month period.

Our claims specialist, Jake Jobe, could not be more disappointing and unprofessional. After several months of trying to find a resolution to no avail, our claim was denied (citing the lack of video evidence). We are left unsurprised by Zurich's poor service and lack of resolution, given that I had to follow up with Jake no fewer than 10 times to receive an update.

I paid for the "extended warranty" offered to us by a car dealership when I bought my last car that was approved by Zurich. Then, when that car DID break down, they denied the coverage foe the very thing they claimed to cover. So, they happily took our money and then left us with a car we can't use. Complete rip off. Do NOT waste cash on them.

My daughter and I was involved in a 5 car accident where the driver that started it all employer was/is insured by this company.
This was in 2024. We both received a NEC-1099 tax form this year. Because I wasn't familiar with this form, I googled it. It states this form is for contract work? Clearly that's not the case. My daughter and I have been trying to contact this company to no avail trying to get help. Their phone doesn't even ring, it goes straight to a recording the leave a message if you're calling about the NEC-1099 form.
Message left still not return call.
Has anyone else received this form?
I just want this resolved but April!!!!!

Horrible! I bought a rim and tire contract for them to replace or repair tires or wheels on my car. They actually told the dealer to balance all four wheels and do a full alignment before they would look into it at my cost. I submitted and so did the dealer how it’s plainly bent. They won’t cover it.

If you're looking to insure your home / auto, Zurich is not the company for you.
They send mailings to your home address claiming that you are late on your insurance policy and that your policy must be paid in full before a certain date or the policy will be canceled.
There is no letterhead or return address, but rather a phone number along with the basic propaganda stating that you must call to keep your insurance coverage active.
When you call them they will attempt to talk you into dropping the company that you are with and sign up with their company.
When you tell them the company that insures your home/auto they will talk them down and give excuses as to why that company cannot compare with theirs.
If you look at the reviews online, you will find that they are one of the most unreliable/unprofessional companies on the market.
Listed on trustpilot they have a 94% one-star rating, and almost all of the reviews are negative.
My advice to you as a home/automobile owner, steer clear of this company (Zurich).

Miserable claim process.
I opened a CDW claim back on late october as I purchased a VIP policy with CDW travel benefits.
The sericr has been terrible.
It appears they don't have the knowledge to handle CDW claim nor the resources.
Is now been almost 4 months and I only got 2 emails and no phone call from a manager to clear guidance or assistance with the claim.
The level customer care and claim adjudication is very miserable.
My claim still pending with no sight of getting it done.
Don't buy the CDW benefit!!!

My horse suffered a severe laceration down his side & I had a veterinarian suture him. For 3 weeks, 3 vets at the same hospital led me to believe the issues I was seeing with his healing were normal, then my horse died. I filed a complaint with the state board of veterinary medicine, sent the hospital a demand letter & received a response from Zurich. The agent said they'd discussed the matter with their insured, reviewed the docs & believed the care & treatment of my horse was appropriate so they must deny liability & no payment will be made; if I believed there was additional info Zurich didn't have I was free to submit it. Long story short, I later learned only 1 of the vets was “their insured.” That vet, a member of the AAEP, had failed to properly treat the infection that developed in my horses' sutures, then misdiagnosed his lethargy that had progressed to recumbency, his odd repetitive head movements & all his signs that he was trying to eat and drink but was unable to swallow. I was to give my horse more antibiotic & anti-inflammatory, flush his wound, try feeding him soaked alfalfa pellets & call in 3 to 5 days if he wasn't doing better. Then this vet told me false blood test results, that only 1 value was abnormal when really 8 were & his only issue was that he might be a little dehydrated. My horse died 2 days later from West Nile Virus. This was established by the vets' own writing; in her invoices, text messages & her exam summary & backed by my horses' blood & WNV tests. But Zurich wanted a written opinion from a vet that supported my allegations & said in absence of that support Zurich was reiterating their denial of liability as they didn't believe there was evidence of a breach in the standard of care provided to my horse. In the meantime the vet board dismissed my complaints. Zurich later received an opinion letter in which a highly qualified vet spelled out 12 instances where the care, skill or knowledge exercised by Zurichs' insured fell outside acceptable professional standards & constituted negligence & malpractice, yet I received another denial letter. The agent went on about how many times Zurich had found no negligence on the part of their insured & the vet board had dismissed my complaints, which supported their position on my claim so they must respectfully deny liability & no payment will be made. No mention of the expert opinion. The director told me, in writing, the board determined there were insufficient grounds to conclude the vets had violated professional standards to such a degree as to warrant discipline. I'd had enough of Zurichs' BS & filed in magistrate court against all 3 vets. The judge ruled all my evidence was hearsay, including the vets' own docs & the expert opinion, threw it all out then dismissed my case due to a lack of evidence. I contacted Zurich, & the agent & his supervisor now discredited the vet who wrote the opinion as reason for denying liability, as was the courts' dismissal. The judge never ruled on the evidence, Zurichs' insured was never found not guilty & I learned Zurich was familiar with the vet who wrote the opinion & was aware of her letters being accepted in other magistrate courts & winning plaintiffs' cases. There was no truth to their efforts to discredit her & my evidence of their insureds' liability & I called them out on it but it made no difference, same with the facts about the vet board & court. No doubt I went about it all wrong but that doesn't change the fact that Zurichs' insured committed negligence & malpractice & Zurich had the form of evidence they'd said was required. I'd read that proving vet mal was difficult & learned it's getting a fair & honest review & settlement from a system that's designed to be against you from the start that's impossible. Zurich is the carrier for the AVMA & state vet associations & boards are under the AVMA. My claim was for $2,699.22.

UPDATE
I filed a complaint with NAIC/OSI & Zurich did same as above. Link gets response from same agents not ind review.

Poor phone prompts. When you choose them they just hang up on you. I tried three different options and they all hung up on me everytime. I eventually got a hold of a live body and asked to speak to the person that sent the letter to me. I was given a 12 digit phone number to call. I told her that phone numbers in the US are not 12 digits.

She tried calling the phone number and it didn't work for her either. I gave up after that.
