I worked with Bettina at Waypoint to buy a house and she was truly the best realtor you could ever ask for. Bettina has an amazing ability to keep you focused without being overwhelming, to help you navigate the complexities of the housing market without making you feel stupid or silly, and to consistently advocate and negotiate for you effectively. I truly cannot imagine going through this process without her. Outside of her incredible skill as a realtor, she is also extremely knowledgeable about the housing market, Southern Maine neighborhoods, and about property values (often helping you assess the value of features or needed repairs during showings). She is also just an amazing human who kept the process fun and full of hope.

Longer review: From the very beginning, Bettina was such an amazing resource - she is so kind, personable and professional, and we connected with her immediately. Over the 8 weeks we spent house hunting, we were more and more happy we chose her as our realtor. She is very knowledgeable on Maine / renting and buying trends, she was extremely prompt in answering our questions, she went to see houses we found within a day or two and she sent us amazing videos of those homes (providing great commentary on how rooms could be used, pointing out detailed features of the homes, etc.), and she was always brainstorming creative ways for us to get an offer accepted. She also worked very well with the rest of the brokerage (thank you Monica!) and found us the perfect home outside of the Portland.

House hunting is always a very overwhelming process, but having Bettina there for us via text and phone call (sometimes for even an hour!) was invaluable.

When I closed in person, she spent her entire afternoon with me, showed me my future home, gave me a tour of Portland, took me to lunch and gave me incredibly thoughtful and personal “congratulations” gifts. We felt her genuine care for us from across the country throughout the whole process, and especially on that day.

Bettina made the house hunting process enjoyable - especially given the crazy market trends - and my husband and I are so thrilled to have worked with her. Any new business we hear of we will send her way and we encourage everyone to give her a call!

My husband and I moved to Maine from out-of-state in 2019 and we were so lucky to connect with Amanda Vigue. She dedicated many weekends to showing us around Maine and helping us find the perfect home in a great town for our growing family. That’s why we didn’t hesitate to contact her again in 2020 when we decided to buy a rental property—and we were so grateful (but not surprised!) that the sale went off without a hitch. In 2022 we started looking for a larger home to fit our family and Amanda was with us every step of the way. She is responsive, kind, fair, and realistic/optimistic, and just a wonderful all-around person.

Last month we finally closed on our forever home, contingent on the sale of our primary residence in the same lovely town we found in 2019. Amanda helped us navigate that process with patience and excitement, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Our home went into contract after receiving multiple offers on the first day of showings. Even better, we didn’t have to worry about the many moving parts of the simultaneous sell/buy process because Amanda had it covered.

But even though our recent experience was amazing, I want to give Amanda props for the experience we had right before it… we thought we found the perfect property for us, but it needed some work. Amanda successfully negotiated a contract, but when the house turned out to need more work than we expected during the inspection process, she did everything in her power to ensure we had the time and information we needed to make the best decision for our family. She never pushed what would have been an easy sale—she truly went above and beyond to ensure that we knew what we were getting into. That’s the mark of an amazing realtor, and we will appreciate it forever.

It is hard for me to put into words what Waypoint has been to my family; specifically, Monica Dambach and Bettina Reece. We decided to move to Cape Elizabeth from Northern Michigan in the summer of last year. I found Monica after reading through her excellent reviews and I truly feel that in finding her, the universe did me this amazing solid. She immediately reached out and instantly became our lifeline. It is not easy to move across the country, and honestly, I do not know if we would have made it, if we hadn’t landed in her capable hands. Our first trip out, we met Bettina for the first time, and that was just the cherry on top. Their method of tagging teaming for clients is so seamless and guarantees that you are never left hanging, not even for a second. I think it goes without saying that 2022/2023 has not been the easiest time to buy a house. Yet, this was the 4th house we have bought, and I enjoyed the process the most this time, hands down. I just felt so well taken care of and in retrospect, I see how many things were going on in the background that Monica and Bettina were handling without us having to spend a moment thinking about, or worrying about. They were honest with us, they took time to get to know us and lead us to the perfect house. In moments of desperation, they were there to counsel and guide us; at times I wanted to look at houses that we knew we wouldn’t like, or were too far over our budget, and Monica and Bettina just said “no”. They knew that patiently waiting would lead us to our home, and that was always more important to them than making the sale and moving on, as I can imagine some people might have done after a couple of months! Beyond our closing, I have asked for recommendations for contractors, advice on movers, etc. and they are always there to support me. Monica even called ahead to a handyman and got me bumped up on his list, genuinely, these two are the absolute best. Moving here has been the best decision of our lives, and Monica and Bettina gave us our home here. We will be forever grateful.

Perhaps the best endorsement I could give of Bettina is that I was *almost* disappointed to close on a home because I really enjoyed working and touring homes in the area with her. I'll recommend Waypoint to anyone who asks.
