Carolyn and Heritage House are extremely unreliable! We contacted them well in advance of needing their services, and were lead to believe they would comfortably handle our estate sale. Carolyn came up with every excuse as to delay after delay and then finally she and Jim came by with a contract. More than a week later Carolyn texted, "Oh my! I feel awful but I can not do your sale!..." Heritage House on short notice left us in a huge bind. Do not depend on them for your estate sale!

They offer great prices, and not like some of the other competitors that charge way over the top. They are great about remembering a familiar face and I love the customer service. They are very organized and that is a plus when you are hunting for bargains.

. I have been a customer since I moved to CA 11 years ago. They have the best run sales. Lots of staff, professionally run, Carolyn is always a pleasure to deal with and they go out of their way to make the customer happy. Jim lugs furniture and does gate duty. Some people complain they charge tax but they are running a business and do it by the book. You get a receipt and they do everything "aboveboard".
Prices are the cheapest around for bargain hunters. Clothes are cheaper than the thrift stores as are linens and everyday items. Books are mostly 25 cents to a dollar. All in all it is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon and there are always treasures to be found the staff missed.

They said only by Appointment, so I text them and let them know that I was interested in a computer and I will buy it... then they said they will see me at 3: 30 until the next day.. then next day I text them that I will be 5 minutes late I was on my way ... they sa and d good... 5 mins later I call them because I can't find the house they gave me directions 2 o 3 minutes more ... a soon I get there I told them I was there for the computer and they response was oooh the computer is gone!
So why they said only by Appointment? I had to wake up my 1 year daughter to make it on time ... I drive more than 30min to get there .... and they said is gone...but I saw the computer there and I saw another person that it was ready to pay for the computer.. I was late for 8 minutes but I let them know by text... that way they know I was on my way... and they respond was sorry 😠

I moved back to CA about 7 years ago and started going to their sales. They were a bit unorganized then, but the prices were fair. Then a few years ago, they started opening up retail stores and their sales changed. Prices went way up and organization went down. Maybe it is because they are trying to do too many things at one time. Maybe it is because they don't actually have to sell stuff now because what doesn't sell just becomes inventory for their retail locations. An estate sale company having retail locations seems unethical to me and it shows in their sales now. I no longer attend their sales because there are SO MANY quality estate sale companies in the area with better pricing and much more organized sales. Want deals, look on craigslist, all the other estate sale companies advertise their sales there. Need a company to do an estate sale for you, look on craigslist and find those other estate sale companies. Either way, you are going to get better service and pricing than you would with this company.
