We met James by chance when looking for our first house purchase. On top of the usual agent skill set, he stroke us as very knowledgeable, leveraging on his previous experience as general contractor. He can confidently assess the quality of plumbing, electric system, heating etc., and also has a good grip on the needs and costs of remodelling. We spent I believe over one year looking for open houses, trying to match a "nice house" demand with a "definitely not nice-bay-area-house" budget, and he has been patiently answering our questions all that time. And the same question multiple times. Communication was good, and if anything I might have wanted him *more* "blunt". Purchase went very smooth (conditions were present where it might have gone less so), and James's crew had a big role in make that happen. He was not afraid of inspecting the house after it become empty, and he did ask a few times if we wanted him to arrange an inspection together with the previous owners. He is still supporting us even after the completion of the purchase.

I have done classes at well over 100 real estate offices. I very rarely find real estate agents who truly understand the problems real estate owners are experiencing as it relates to taxes. We offer solutions to the problem and James immediately saw the benefit of that and brought us on as his tax strategist FOR his clients. For various reasons, it may actually be the best interest for the client to keep the property and not sell it. If that’s the outcome, then James knows he’s done a good job. Of course it means no listing and no sale for James, but it’s in the best interest of the client and that’s what James cares about. James truly puts his clients interest first

I haven't even purchased a house with James yet, and I already like him a lot. I was assigned him randomly when I wanted to see a house for sale though Zillow. He really took time to talk to us about what we wanted. We have been on the fence about buying a house for a long time, I believe him when he says he wants to be there for you though the process. He's also been totally patient with us so far, which I appreciate because I have a lot on my plate until my three kids go back to school or I get childcare. I was considering working with a friend's family member who seems a lot less experienced, and who didn't seem as forthcoming with information as James, such as about lenders. I'll update if things change, but he's been great so far.
