A contractor that used to work on odd jobs in my home forged a check I wrote for him and cashed it with a major bank. I got in touch with Chartway and spoke with a few associates including, Jesus, Janice, and Sandra. Each of them was helpful and moved things along. I was ultimately providing a provisional refund. Thank you, Sandra! Since my account was compromised, I elected to set up a new account. I connected with Marketta via the Video Banking service to help with this. Marketta was a STAR associate and helped me every step of the way! She was knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful. When she did not know an answer, she asked others, and even took the time to look deeper into the process for a current Chartway member setting up autopayments with a new account. While it’s unfortunate my account was the object of fraud, I am grateful Chartway showed up caring about my membership and the situation at hand.

The representative for Chartway that helped me went far and beyond. I started my credit application with her on Thursday and worked with her throughout my buying process. She offered to come in on Sunday to process loan paperwork after a deal feel through before my eyes. I wish more companies had a person like this with great customer service and care for their clients. It was truly a pleasure working with this young lady. Five starts is not enough for the service I was provided.

Edit: To give credit were it's due, after I left this review and filed a formal complain with the NCUA, Chartway did credit my account for the disputed amount.

I signed up for a checking account with this bank under a $200 new account promotion.

I believed I had fulfilled the bonus requirements in January and I inquired about the bonus. I was told, via secure message in writing, that I still needed to enroll my account in e-statements, but that if that was done I would be qualified and the bonus would be deposited in February.

This didn't happen, and when I inquired further a supervisor told me that I fulfilled some requirements in December and some in January. When I asked about the written assurances from a customer service rep, I received no response.

The bank is certainly with their rights. They have found a legally justified way of using the fine print to avoid paying the bonus that enticed me join with them. In doing so, they have also indicated that the information conveyed by their customer service reps will not be honored if they can ignore it and save the bank a few dollars.

I'll let people draw their own conclusions about what this says about their business practices, and if they operate in good faith.

Clunky online banking portal that only shows partial data. Consistent issue that were never resolved. Way better options out there in terms of banking. Do not recommend.
