My wife & I met Kellen at an open house last summer. He was very approachable and demonstrated a deep knowledge of the local real estate market. We weren't in the market for a home at the time since were already homeowners and didn't have a clear vision for what we wanted to do next. Kellen kept in touch however with the occasional text so one day several months later when the right house came on the market, we decided to work with Kellen to put in an offer which was accepted. We wouldn't have been able to get the offer accepted & purchase the home had it not been for Kellen's resilience however. We’ve never had such a smooth and positive experience with a real estate before. We decided to look for a home to purchase during the Shelter-In-Place period here in the Bay Area and we were referred to Kellen Gauthier by our Mortgage Lender, Daniel Lee from Wells Fargo (who is stellar!). Kellen immediately set up a Zoom meeting to just chat and get to know us. He took the call from his home and his family was in the house as well. We quickly sensed and felt his genuine, down-to-earth, and yet professional personality. His communication was clear, approachable, and transparent and we felt excited to have him represent us. That meeting was on a Thursday and that Saturday he scheduled a tour of 3 houses in the East Bay, which is his area expertise (he’s an East Bay native!!). He knew exactly what we wanted and we found the house of our dreams that same day! He provided some guidance on what to offer for the house (in this case we offered below the list price), and that Monday the seller accepted our offer! Kellen then provided us with the sellers’ disclosures and the disclosures were clean. However, Kellen noticed that the inspectors that were used were not inspectors he was familiar with and suggested we hire our own inspectors. We took his advice and the new inspectors found a lot of minor damages (and one major damage) that helped us be more aware of what the condition the house was in. With that we were able to resolve some things with the seller. We really appreciated Kellen for having our backs and doing his due diligence in representing us. He wasn’t hesitant to communicate our needs and asks to the sellers despite how ridiculous they seemed. In the end, we felt good about our transaction and within a month we closed on our new home!

Overall, Kellen is professional, transparent, empathetic, personable, and was timely in his communication with us with information we needed to receive and give. I highly recommend him!!
