Really bad communication. We were never able to communicate with Melida. We had multiple misunderstandings with her staff because of their lack of communication within the office. We tried letting them know we were frustrated as new business owners and Melida sent us a very condescending email. We tried calling to let her know what was going on, but she was always “too busy.” I even emailed her to call us back and she never did.

Misunderstanding #1: An employee told us we didn’t need to file for 2023, I told her “please double check with Melida because I am pretty sure we do have to file.” She said, “ok I will” but she never got back to us until Melida called us frantically the night of the deadline. She said she filed an extension for us “for free” as if it was a favor to us but it was GPS’s fault we needed it at all.

Misundertanding #2: My husband called to make a tax appointment. We are new business owners, so we don’t know what we need. My husband had to ask what documents were needed and they texted him a list. Two days before our appointment, one of her workers calls us and asks why we haven’t sent all the documents. Apparently, we were supposed to email all our documents 3-4 days before our appointment. That would have been nice to know when we made our appointment. Different people kept calling (2 days before our appointment) to ask when we’re sending the docs. We were in the hospital with our son, so I was like, “I’ll try my best to do today, but I have questions (that I thought I’d be able to ask at our appointment). Anyways, after yet another person calls to tell us we were supposed to send 3-4 days before, my husband tells them how it’s frustrating yet funny how different people keep calling as if they didn’t know that someone had called us hours before and that he was upset they didn’t tell him we had to email everything 3 days before when he made the appointment. Not long after, Melida sent us a very condescending email. We just wanted to clear everything up and you can’t gauge tone over email, so we called her office, but “she wasn’t there.” Okay, so we asked that she please call us and emailed her back to please call us. We received no reply and no call. Apparently, simply expressing our concerns is a no no to Melida.

Honestly, I can write a novel with other things that bothered me but these were the things that stood out.

Luckily, I was able to find a true professional to help us elsewhere and there was zero drama AND he answered all of our questions no problem. He was even flabbergasted at what GPS was charging us.
